realization of the corrupt 21 century

When the men of the modern world discover Herland, they discover the women spying on them from the trees. Once the group of men (Va, Terry, and Jeff) warm up to Herland and its inhabitants, they begin to talk with the women. The men explain the problems of modern society. The women  are baffled that poverty, disease, exploitation, and violence exist in the modern world. With that being said, the men became embarrassed and started to embellish the truth. However, the woman see past the lies and get a good idea of what the modern world is like.      The women are horrified to of the execution of abortion. They believe it as harm to motherhood and life.  By talking to these women, the men realize what purity and perfection is. The men realize what "normal" should be.  The more Van and Jeff know about Herland the more they are convinced of its goodness and realize the cruelty of their own society.
